Nestled in the heart of the Nottinghamshire countryside, Manor Farm & Woodlands offers visitors a variety of family days out, animal experiences, nursery and play facilities, and year-round community events. They approached us to design new entrance signage and wayfinding. Something that would reflect their connection to the rural landscape — and feel naturally at home in its surroundings while remaining durable enough to withstand the changing seasons.
Our task was to design and produce a cohesive signage package for the Manor Farm & Woodlands estate, guiding visitors with both clarity and rustic charm. While the project included directional and information signs, the main focus was the creation of a large entrance sign. This was to be a warm, welcoming focal point that would greet visitors and passersby, capture the character of the farm, and reflect the quality and personality of the brand.
Our aim was to create something that felt natural and premium. Signage that blends in with the rural setting but still makes an impact. After exploring several material options, we recommended Millboard panelling for its realistic timber texture, weather resistance, and long-lasting finish.
The entrance sign was manufactured using engraved Millboard panels, with the graphics precision-engraved and resin-filled to achieve crisp lettering and a tactile, durable finish. The sign structure was designed to complement the natural appearance of the material, while ensuring longevity and ease of maintenance.
Once fabricated, our team handled full installation, positioning the sign for maximum visibility along the main approach. The finished piece seamlessly integrates into the landscape, offering a warm, high-quality welcome that complements the rural surroundings.
The client was delighted with their new signage and entrance feature, which captures the essence of Manor Farm & Woodlands. The combination of Millboard’s durability and our bespoke fabrication techniques has delivered signage that looks great today and will last for many years to come.
