Our work has taken us to many beautiful and often challenging spaces, each with a unique set of signage needs. One such rewarding project was our signage commission for Mount Congreve Gardens in Ireland.
We were approached to produce creative wayfinding and interpretation signage throughout the Mount Congreve estate. Collaborating closely with the design team at Weare Martin, we worked from their initial sketches.
The consultation process was extensive, ensuring a deep understanding of the brief. As a result, we were able to carefully select the most suitable materials and manufacturing processes to achieve visually striking yet highly durable signage.
As an outdoor attraction, Mount Congreve needed signage that could withstand the elements and continuous public interaction. To meet this challenge, each sign was designed to engage visitors in a unique and immersive way, making them an integral part of the overall experience.
From initial concept to final installation, we managed the entire production process, including:
Delivering a project of this scale and nature required meticulous planning and project management – something our team has extensive experience with. The finished wayfinding and interpretive signage was shipped out on large pallets. To ensure a seamless installation, we supplied clear instructions and all necessary fixings. This allowed the client’s team to handle the process smoothly. Despite the complexity of the designs, we were delighted to learn the installation went smoothly and looked great, with every moving part functioning flawlessly and safely, ready for public interaction.
While some outdoor signage projects require subtlety and natural materials to blend with the environment, Mount Congreve, in contrast, called for bold, colourful, and playful elements that would stand out and add sculptural and architectural interest to the destination.
Despite the project’s scale and unique characteristics, everything was delivered on schedule, and the client was delighted with the results. Furthermore, the wayfinding and interpretation signage seamlessly integrate into the estate, enhancing the visitor experience with their interactive and engaging design.
Beyond simply providing wayfinding and information, the signage also serves as a functional exhibit. It captures attention, encourages interaction and enriches the overall ambience of Mount Congreve. Ultimately, this project stands as a flagship example of our ability to combine creativity, precision, and durability to elevate the visitor experience.
